Fragment from a relief plaque with goddess Athena's shield. The plaque depicted the armed goddess jumping on a chariot. It was unearthed during one of the Acropolis excavation campaigns.

The centre of the largely preserved shield was adorned with a gorgoneion rendered in relief. From the Medusa's head rise coiled snakes. The fragment surface retains white slip that was used as the undercoat for the plaque’s final painting whereas on the shield’s circumference is preserved red colour.
